- A new type of all-fibre comb filter is presented, based on our proposed “mode coupler” function of the multimode fibre, which can re-couple cladding modes into the single mode fibre and hence achieve long distance transmissions. The simple fabrication, compact design and multiple functions demonstrated here formed part of the underpinning research for awards from National Science Foundation funding of China (61605186, CNY350K, 2019-2021) and State Key Laboratory of Advanced Optical Communication Systems and Networks, China (2018G2KF03003, CNY 100K, 2018-2020) to further develop optical filters.
