- This is a work to complete a series of routing protocols capable of detecting and bypassing void area proposed under different operational conditions for UWSNs. In a collaboration with the Institute for Communication Systems, University of Surrey, a novel cluster-based mobile data gathering protocol for large-scale AUV-based UWSNs is presented in this paper. The problem is first mapped into an optimization problem and then developed two efficient algorithms to obtain the near-optimal solutions in minimum computational time. This approach is, in particular, of high interest for the rapidly growing applications in off-shore oilfields and seismic monitoring.
