- This paper reported the world-record data rate for a SPAD array based receiver, a factor of 5 higher than the previous record rate, and also showed sensitivities higher than equivalent conventional approaches for data rates of less than 1 Gbit/s. This is significant as rate and sensitivities are the key determining performance metrics for optical wireless links.
