- Fully annotated edition of 319 unpublished translations of Latin and Greek verse appearing in 159 different MSS, significantly expanding the corpus of English classical verse in translation. Based on over four years research in the Bodleian and other libraries, it underlines the enduring importance of manuscripts in 'the age of print'. Accessibility is assured by editorial preference for 'reading text' rather than diplomatic transcription. The Annexe, an online supplement, contains longer translations amounting to over 10,000 lines of verse, designed for ongoing web extension. Annexe texts are often looser translations than those in the paper volume, unfinished, or defective.
