- Double-weighted statement
- Based on the author’s doctoral thesis, this monograph represents an extended piece of research, undertaken over a number of years. The substantial data are drawn from the excavation and analysis of the skeletons of both the sub-adults and adults at the priory cemetery of St Peter and St Paul, Taunton, Somerset (ninety-three and ninety-seven individuals respectively), with comparative data for the sub-adult population collected from two other cemetery sites: the remains of sixty-five children from the cemetery of the priory of St Oswald, Gloucester, and one hundred and four sub-adults from the priory of St Gregory, Canterbury.
