- The new constitutive model for load-induced thermal strains (LITS) in concrete, presented in the article, has been implemented in Code Aster (an open-source Finite Element software developed and maintained by EDF Energy) using Mfront [contact: R&D Modelling and Simulation Manager, EDF Energy]. The work led to the Adam Neville Prize from the Concrete Society in 2018, and invited talks in three international conferences. This research was the basis of a follow-on research grant proposal to EPSRC in Sep 2018 involving the Universities of Manchester (Co-PI, share £300k), Sheffield, Warwick and Edinburgh (EPSRC Standard - EP/S012792/1) for a total Value £1.4M.
