- The novel concept of the design and features of sustainable digital libraries/information services discussed in this paper resulted in a 2-year AHRC GCRF funded project involving three African countries – Ethiopia, Kenya and Malawi -- focusing on building sustainable digital libraries in Africa (Grant Ref: AH/R004277/1). The key conclusions on sustainability of information systems were recognised through invitations from around the world as invited speaker/panellist at international conferences/seminars on sustainability: (a) ICDL2016, New Delhi (http://bookstore.teri.res.in/books/9788179936535); (b) XV International Conference on University Libraries, Mexico City, Oct.2017 (http://www.dgb.unam.mx/eventos/reunion/conf2017/indexeng.html); and (c) 39th Consultative meeting of INIS liaison officers, 16-18 October, 2018, IAEA, Viennahttps://www.iaea.org/sites/default/files/18/09/39th-ilo-provisionalagenda.pdf
