- This book provides an in-depth critical analysis of whiteness in the UK and USA. It reports an 18- month research project that examined how whiteness operates in two different political, economic and social contexts. The complexity of the data collection included primary and secondary analysis of extensive qualitative and quantitative data, from the UK and USA, focussing on education, the labour market, wealth and poverty. The book benefitted from extensive collaborative discussions with US scholars during a period of sabbatical leave at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
