- Clothing in 17th-century Provincial England is a single-authored monograph (96,000 words, 264pp). It makes an original contribution to the field of clothing history by looking at the under-explored subject of non-elite clothing. It also contributes to the wider field of the history of consumption, offering new insights into the production, distribution and consumption of clothing and textiles in the provinces, and examining the links between London and the provincial consumer. The study is based on an extensive body of archival material, as well as print and visual material.
