- Fathers on Film examines the multifarious representations of fatherhood in 1990s Hollywood cinema in their political, cultural and social contexts. It presents original critical insight into the ways that fatherhood was constructed and deconstructed by Hollywood filmmakers during this period. It is the result of sustained and extensive research on the topic across 10 years, initially undertaken as a PhD thesis. In addition to the original research and textual analysis, the monograph required further primary and secondary research to broaden the scope of the project and bring it up to date.
