- Shim was PhD supervisor for one of the authors, Hunter, and was responsible for microfluidic design and construction as well as optimising the chemical conditions for the stable isotropic expansion of hydrogels in confined geometries for development of expansion microscopy. In addition to the design of the microfluidic devices he also performed data and image analysis as well as contributed to preparation of the manuscript.
