- This 90,000 word monograph is the culmination of ten years of research into the literary translations of Saunders Lewis. The research effort required analysis of theoretical works about literary translation, theatre translation, the history of Welsh theatre, and the life and works of Saunders Lewis, Beckett and Molière. The author conducted interviews with Lewis’s contemporaries as well as in-depth analyses of many published and unpublished translations, plays and correspondence, radio recordings at the BBC archives, and primary and secondary sources regarding three authors in multiple languages.
