- The Official History of the UK Strategic Nuclear Deterrent, volume II . This is a substantial volume (pp559) in the Government’s official history series, resulting from eight years’ research in open and closed official UK documents, US records in presidential libraries and the US National Archives, private papers, newspaper reports, parliamentary debates, and interviews. The author had unrestricted access to UK official records during the research, and thousands of documents were consulted. The book references multiple primary and secondary sources and subjects them to extended analysis as well as providing a lengthy and wide-ranging account of strategic nuclear policy, 1964-70.
