- 'Stalin’s Music Prize: Soviet Culture and Politics' is the result of a decade of work on this topic, culminating in three years of full-time research (two years funded by a Leverhulme Fellowship and one year of sabbatical). It was an archival project, which required intensive work in five different archives located in Moscow, in order to study around a thousand documents related to the 14-year span of the Stalin Prize (some of them word-by-word transcripts of meetings running to hundreds of pages). The monograph is 352 pages long, with substantial appendices available online.
