- Double-weighted statement
- This work took four years to research and write and is approximately 70,000 words in length. It brings together research into numerous fields: as well as poetics and the histories of English, French, Italian, and German poetry of the nineteenth, twentieth, and twenty-first centuries. It draws on discourses from linguistics and philology, from philosophy from Plato to Augustine to Rousseau and Herder to Heidegger, Derrida, and Nancy, from child psychoanalysis, media theory, and the history of sound technologies.
