- Energy harvesting from the human body is a rapidly growing research field that can offer remarkable advances in portable medical devices. In this paper, piezoelectric transducers are utilized to produce and save energy through an innovative application which involves the design, construction and thorough performance assessment of a piezoelectric glove which produces energy from hand figures during typing. The concept is presented for first time and demonstrates that the energy produced is considerable and the method can potentially constitute the basis for further developments in harvesting energy from the human body during the interaction with computers, tablets and smart phones.
