- An international collaboration, between the University of Hertfordshire and the College of Medicine at Nankai University in China (Grant #. 81771979 and 81571804), this investigation concerns the clinical potential of a Bisphosphonate derivative (Etidronate-Zinc) in rat models as a neuroprotective medicine. Etidronate and Bisphosphonate derivatives (trisphosphonate) are under examinations at the same rat model aiming for higher potency agent development for treatment of a wide range of bone diseases, including bone cancers as a dual therapeutic agent, preventing cognitive impairment progression. Further research by the authors was subsequently undertaken and published -Neurochemical Research, 2019, 44 (2), 428-440. DOI: 10.1007/s11064-018-2696-3
