- Double-weighted statement
- This single-authored monograph provides an original theoretical and conceptual analysis of racism in contemporary English elite football. Engaging with a wide range of sources collected over two decades – media representation, policy documentation and the author’s experiential insights – the book presents a critique of academic, popular and institutional orthodoxies, while presenting an original perspective on racism and anti-racism in the game. The book meets the criteria for double weighting as: it is a longer-form output demonstrating a sustained research effort; it investigates the theme of race in relation to football in considerable depth and in relation to different contexts.
