- Double-weighted statement
- This monograph is based on five years of original research in libraries and archives in the UK, Switzerland, and Uganda. This includes a total of a year’s fieldwork in Uganda. The depth and sustained nature of the research is evident in its use of a wide range of new and difficult to access archival material, including uncatalogued collections in district archives across Uganda, and documents stored in a Ministry of Health warehouse, requiring multiple layers of administrative clearance and permissions. The research also involved oral histories conducted in Ugandan languages, requiring transcription and translation.
