- Current standards for Electromagnetic Shielding Effectiveness (SE) consider only an empty enclosure. In this paper we demonstrate the use of surrogate contents to enable the measurement of real-life SE for enclosure qualification, building on the concept we proposed in IEEE 299.1 2013 standard Annex J. The method has been adopted by Huawei (Contact: Project lead Huawei) for qualification of telecommunications equipment enclosures. This has led to further H2020 funded work in ETN PETER (https://etn-peter.eu/), and standards development in the IEEE P2716 on board level shielding (Contact: IEEE Program manager).
