- Double-weighted statement
- A very large amount of archival work went into this book. I spent most of 2011 and 2014 undertaking research in Germany for this project, and the published book cites documents held in 12 different archives located across the Federal Republic, in addition to dozens of published source collections. No other work on this topic has previously analysed the range of sources consulted for this book- ranging from the documentation preserved in church archives, to those produced by individual Catholics and the Nazi surveillance agencies. A recent review alludes to ‘Brodie’s painstaking archival work’.
