- This book partly arises from an extended period of inter-disciplinary study as part of Youdell’s British Academy Fellowship, and therefore represents the result of an extended study that critically engaged a large body of research and required international visits to explore pioneering work in progress. The study traverses numerous fields (including education, molecular biology, analytical chemistry, epigenetics and neuroscience) to produce a unique critical synthesis, identify a new research agenda and explore potential foci for intervention, informed by a biosocial framework. The book is also unique in its co-authorship by an education professor with a molecular biologist.
