- The work contributed to an IEC working group (TC 10 PT63025) which established a new international standard on the determination of methanol in insulating liquids [contact: Senior Innovation Engineer, National Grid]. It also contributed to a Cigre working group (JWG A2-D1.46) "Field experience with transformer solid insulation ageing markers". The work resulted in The John Neal Award 2018 by the European Electrical Insulation Manufacturers. The technique developed has helped multiple industrial labs in the UK to use Methanol to detect the health of power transformers [contact: Technical Support Engineer SGS oil lab, and/or Senior Principal Consultant, EATL oil lab].
