- Double-weighted statement
- The output is a longer-form output (monograph) based on research which began in 2013 and was sustained over the course of several years until manuscript submission in 2019. The research required the author and four research assistants to code decisions in 674 Supreme Court cases (decisions totalling over 11 million words) and over three thousand "permission to appeal" applications. The output is interdisciplinary (politics and law), and features both complex statistical analysis and extended analysis of the court's caselaw in relation to "left and right".
