- Thomas led the definition of the target selection algorithm of the LOWZ and CMASS galaxy samples in the BOSS project referred to in Section 4.1. Thomas calculated stellar population models to evaluate the exact cuts in g-r and r-i colour required to achieve the construction of a galaxy sample at redshifts 0.4 < z < 0.7 that is volume-limited in stellar mass (CMASS).
