- This work presents an experimentally verified theory for predicting the performance of saturated high frequency transistors. The work’s significance resides in its simplicity where only two simply collected parameters are sufficient to accurately predict key design information. This approach provides an advantage to small RF companies and design houses that may not have access to advanced non-linear simulation tools and instrumentation. The work enables faster time-to-market and lower initial cost of product development, and was presented as a keynote speech (“The Outphasing PA: Revisiting 80 Years of Questionable Assumptions and Unrealised Performance Potential”) at European Microwave Week, Nuremberg, October 2017.
