- This novel solution for the provision of sustainable nuclear power presented in this paper was recognised by the appointment of Prof Bruno Merk (co-author) to a prestigious Chair In Emerging Technologies in 2020 by the Royal Academy of Engineering. It made important contributions to the UK Govts support to developing and deploying next generation nuclear reactors by 2030 through a £170M commitment in their recently published Plan for a Green Industrial Revolution.
