- Double-weighted statement
- It is a sustained research effort, emanating from an AHRC Fellowship and resulting in the production of a 140,000 word book. It is a complex piece of research that crosses History, Politics and Sociology. It engages with the lengthy research context in ways that is challenging and provides critical insights. The main body is based on an extensive range of primary sources, many never accessed, from a number of archives across the country. It is an original piece of work and breaks new ground in our understanding of the complex issues facing inner cities and government responses/policies.
