- Double-weighted statement
- Salvator Rosa, Friendship and the Free Artist in Seventeenth-Century Italy represents, together with the accompanying 2-volume English translation and critical edition The Letters of Salvator Rosa, the result of fifteen years of research. The monograph offers a fresh analysis of Rosa’s art and historical significance in connection with the previously unstudied context of friendship. These volumes satisfy the criteria for double-weighting as they constitute, in scale and scope, publications of unusual breadth and length. They required the collection and analysis of a large body of international archival material, the study of which was integral to the argument of the monograph.
