- This new coating, described for the first time in this paper, formed an integral part of a novel energy efficient, severe service ball valve assembly resulting in a patent application (GB1700319) and a £10M order for industrial partner IMI Truflo Marine Ltd (Technical Director). The work was an international collaboration supported by Innovate UK (KTP9299 – graded outstanding), the Romanian National Authority for Scientific Research (PN-II-ID-PCE-2011-3-1016) and EPSRC (EP/L017725/1).
