- This paper for the first time presents a testbed to evaluate software directed network configurations for supporting applications spanning multiple datacentres and IoT devices. This is a significant fiscal saving in development as appropriately configuring software managed network configuration can bring energy efficiency through optimised resource usage. Although achieved previously in single data centres, this is the first time including IoT and multiple data centres - those largest of applications that consume the most power - to benefit from such efficiency savings. This work has allowed opportunity within streamed gaming infrastructures to benefit our industry collaborators (e.g., NVidia).
