- This book uses original methods to present the results of a series of studies carried out over more than five years within a major research programme. It analyses data on income volatility, life cycle changes, modelling results on the effects of public policies, and public attitudes over a wide range of timescales and using several different types of data source, including cross-sectional and longitudinal studies, with short and long intervals and tax-benefit modelling, bringing them together in a consistent narrative within eight substantive chapters, and presenting new evidence.
