- This book, which extends to nearly 1800 pages and has been more than 20 years in the making, aims to provide a complete history of money in medieval Greece. It builds on extensive examinations of primary numismatic evidence in many locations in Greece and elsewhere. The second body of sources are the histories and documents pertaining to the political, socio-economic and monetary history of Greece. The primary material is presented in a comprehensive manner and analysed in different layers: internally-technically, archaeologically and topographically, and in a broader historical context, in order to be useful to a broad range of readers.
