- In this 324 page book, Mackay focuses upon feminism as a movement anchored around different campaigns through its various ‘waves’. Charting the changes and challenges of feminist movements from the 1970s onwards, Mackay presents in-depth analysis, reflection and critical insight, including a vibrant and original account of the driving forces behind a social movement for change expressed through the UK ‘Reclaim the Night’ marches, later a global phenomenon. Mackay draws on depth interviews with over thirty activists from across the generations, confronting the controversial issues facing men, women and feminism in contemporary society.
