- This book is the product of six years of intensive thinking, reading and writing about Islamophobia, its perpetuation in cultural narratives, and literature’s potential to create egalitarian visions of the future. The book also builds on thirteen years spent exploring the politics of representation concerning Muslims, including two funded research projects. It engages with leading scholarship in literary studies, sociology, political science and philosophy, offering close readings of novels in their historical and political contexts.
