- Originality: Nature-based solutions (NBS) represent an emerging approach to sustainable landscape management. Currently, lack of evidence in relation to delivery of benefits and management of trade-offs represents a barrier to mainstreaming. Here SC led the development of the first comprehensive review of environmental indicators for NBS, making them accessible and implementable for users. Rigour: Scientifically rigorous systematic review processes were combined with subject expertise to create and curate current best-practice knowledge. Significance: The reviews are being used directly by ten city-teams as part of the Connecting Nature project and are being fed into a European Commission Guidebook for NBS evaluation.
