- This volume brings together three Welsh plays from the middle of the twentieth century that have been edited and with an introduction by David Cottis._x000D_
The collection explores the period either side of the Second World War, a time when Welsh playwrights enjoyed unprecedented commercial success, both at home and in the West End. The collection includes: Rhondda Roundabout (1939) by Jack Jones, The Druid’s Rest (1944) by Emlyn Williams and After My Fashion (1952) by Diana Morgan.
In bringing these plays together Cottis emphasises Welsh domestic interiors, Language and bilingualism and how these authors also speak to the London scene of the period.
