- Double-weighted statement
- This is a single-authored monograph with a length of approximately 90,000 words. While it represents approximately 6 years of focused work (2013-2019), its origins trace back to my PhD and research I did then (beginning in 2004). It draws upon a large body of written primary source material, mostly in Chinese (which is not my native language). Because much of this was published between the 1950s and 1970s in Taiwan, and is not digitised, it was particularly difficult to access. As such, I consider it a detailed, theoretically informed, and in-depth investigation that analysed difficult material.
