- Double-weighted statement
- This is a long-form output whose production has demonstrated sustained research effort. It collects and analyses a large body of novel material, much of which was sourced in interviews and through oral histories gathered in Iran. Given the topic of the book and social and the political sensitivities regarding its theme in the field site, its production at all stages was an unusually complex endeavour. Furthermore, the gathering together of such a large body of hitherto unstudied documentary material was meshed with the strategic goal to write Iran “into” histories of health and medicine from a global, comparative perspective.
