- Double-weighted statement
- This book is an original, multiscalar examination of the production of space within the global political economy. It is based on substantial fieldwork conducted in the Mexican states of Oaxaca and Chiapas, where alternative, counter-spaces of resistance were explored. The monograph was described by one reviewer as a text that ‘has broad application and relevance well beyond its Mexican context for scholars of globalization, spatial production, indigenous and minority resistance movements, and Marxist and Gramscian theory’. With regards to the latter it is the first work to explore Antonio Gramsci’s concept of passive revolution at multiple spatial scales.
