- Double-weighted statement
- This book is the first ever regional study of African theatre, covering a period of some one hundred years and dealing with theatre in Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia/Somaliland on a transnational basis. The book is the product of some thirty-five years professional and artistic engagement with the region and a more specific five years intensive research. It uses a range of primary and ‘grey’ sources and a very large body of material; published, unpublished, extensive interviews with key players and my own primary involvement with the theatres of these nations.
