- This paper develops a theoretical and practical framework for a multimedia multicast scheme, capable of offering consistently better quality of service than conventional multi-rate transmission to users experiencing heterogeneous propagation conditions . The research was presented as an invited tutorial at DARNEC’15. Published in the field’s top technical journal, the work inspired researchers from signal processing, photonics and mobile computing, as inferred from citations by research groups, e.g. at Caltech, Toronto and NTT. The paper led to a joint project proposal between Lancaster, Cambridge and Luxembourg, supported by Toshiba, BAE Systems and MIT.
