- This paper is the first application of the mean first passage time approach to defining and calculating memory lifetimes in models of synaptic plasticity, overturning other approaches and defining the ""gold standard"" for the field. It has resulted in a series of three further papers appearing in Neural Computation which is the premier journal in this area:
