- Double-weighted statement
- Khan’s single-authored monograph offers a detailed examination of the lives and work of Pashtun journeyman taxi drivers as they reflect the experience of Afghan migrants in Britain, tackling themes of violence, displacement, kinship obligations, and mobility. The monograph meets the panel’s double weighting criteria as follows: it is a longer-form single authored output demonstrating sustained research effort; it reflects extensive use of primary sources - the author’s ongoing ethnographic work for over twenty years; and the outcome is an in-depth analysis of migration, integrating multiple participant perspectives experiences and accompanying cultural and geographical contexts.
