- Double-weighted statement
- This book is submitted for consideration as a double-weighted output. It results from sustained research effort over almost 10 years including a BA/Leverhulme Senior Research Fellowship and research leave. The book examines fundamental changes to criminal justice values in England & Wales, and in France, and how their responses to shifting transnational norms illustrate wider values they cherish. This includes complex, interacting and wide-ranging issues around the consequences of politicisation of justice, the dichotomy of increasingly bureaucratic treatment of individuals against the expansion of fair trial rights, and the impact of expanded cross-border policing and judicial co-operation.
