- Acoustoelectric devices play a critical part in modern optical communications systems. In this paper we demonstrated an acoustoelectric photodetector based on a hybrid graphene-SAW device. This work was one of the most accessed papers published in this journal for the first quarter of 2015, was made free to download (for a limited period), has informed research across the world on 2D materials-SAW hybrids (e.g. that of Professor Hubert Krenner, hubert.krenner@physik.uni-augsburg.de), and led to an invitation to contribute to the EU Horizon 2020 SAWtrain summer school (http://summerschool.sawtrain.eu/).
