- This paper describes an innovation in the application of uniform catalyst coatings to tubular channels. It provides a new method to synthesise and screen value-added chemicals and pharma ingredients in a flexible, cheaper and more sustainable way than existing methods. The work led to five patents (covering Europe, the USA and China and including WO/2017/220590) and the establishment of a spin-out company in 2016 (Stoli Catalysts, http://www.stolicatalysts.com/) funded by Innovate UK, the EU and EPSRC (total £2.3M).
