- Additional information
- This significant work arose from Invest NI funding (£104K) to develop what would be the first leak detection system that could be used with an ostomy appliance. The initial design was enhanced through a multicentre/interdisciplinary collaboration to facilitate the measurement of pH within urostomies. The significance of the resulting novel work was recognised internationally through being selected as the July Finalist for the Springer Nature 2019 Cahn Prize. The work was entered into the Lean Launch Pad (winning best engagement award) and has subsequently led to collaboration with Coloplast (Denmark) – the leading manufacturer of ostomy products.
