- <28> This paper is the first output from the research collaboration with Sichuan University China. It received the Travel Award at the IEEE BIBM2018 (http://orienta.ugr.es/bibm2018/) and was selected for the special issue in IEEE/ACM Trans. on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics. This paper contributed to the EU COST Action “Open Multiscale Systems Medicine (OpenMultiMed)” (http://openmultimed.net, CA15120, 2016–2020) on multiscale computing. It has been included in the Action’s showcase of network applications in systems medicine. The work paved the way for further collaboration with Sichuan University and has led to two research outputs (DOI: 10.1109/TCBB.2020.3041559, 10.1109/BIBM49941.2020.9313407).
