- LLC resonant converters are popular candidates for industrial power supplies and battery chargers. This paper is the first to describe an accurate model for the capacitor-diode current protection of LLC multi resonant converters with sufficient fidelity for detailed analysis of the characteristics and, thus, is suitable for incorporation within a design process. Previously designers relied on poor approximations in the literature or used trial and error for over current protection design, a point acknowledged by discussions with Bang and Olufsen that occurred as a part of a research forum organised as part of EP/C015924/1, leading to the award of EP/P015859/1
